What is "Podcasting"?
Podcasting, is a word that was originally made up from two other words. Those words were
"iPod" and "Broadcasting". It is a method for a content provider to
publish files to the internet. The broadcaster which is providing (broadcasting) the content
is also said to be providing a "feed". In the internet world this is referred to
as an "RSS" feed which stands for "Real Simple Syndication". There
are basically two types of feeds, audio and video. Currently we only offer the audio feed.
Think of it like a radio station that may NOT publish content all the time. We provide
content as we can, and the subscribers (listeners) receive those files as we make them available.
A user can subscribe to a podcast by using audio software that is capable of supporting
"RSS". There are many pieces of software out there that will do this for you on
both a "PC" and a "Mac". One such piece of software that I find quite
good and is available on both platforms is "iTunes" which you can find at the
following link (Click Here).
After using your audio software to subscribe to a Podcast's feed, you will receive any new
audio files automatically. Most Podcaster's offer their material for free, but a few charge
for their content. You should check for the costs listed at the time you try to subscribe.
"Corporate Confidential Chat" is currently free, and we have no plans to ever charge
for our content.
